We live far north in an old Victorian without central air. We use this in our large living area during the occasional heat wave. Don™™t know what™™s it™™s like to use long term but a necessity when we need it. Only downside is that it™™s heavy.

This ac is awesome, the supplemental haet (pump) is a perfect for quickly getting rid of the chills. Had the older unit it ran for 6 years without a glitch. Ran it 24X7 for climate control in an attic. I run codinsate pump for continuous drain. Ty great ac unit. Waiting for the WiFi : )

This is my first experience with the portable AC. I had high hopes since it comes from the Frigidaire brand. It ended up being a disappointment. The AC is advertised as "library quiet" but it is considerably noisy. We had to increase TV volume each time it kicked in. Even though it was by the window in the dining room and we were 15+ feet away in the living room.It is very heavy. It was hard to move up the stairs because casters make it hard to set it on stair steps. So its portability is mostly limited to one floor.The included window kit is very short. My window in the dining room is not huge, but the kit was too short for it. I had to get another aftermarket kit that fits the window, but that required changing the end-piece on the exhaust hose.It came with fins on evaporator bent right out the box. I purchased an additional PureAir filter and when I opened the back of the AC before the first use to install the filter I saw bent fins. The filter itself is $35 for a piece if open-cell foam. Not even central AC filters are that expensive.My AC has a swing function where the louvre is supposed to move up and down. It doesn't work either when I activate it from the AC's control panel or from the remote. It opens when I turn AC on but then it never moves. To close it I have to push it down. So it neither closes by itself nor swings on the brand new unit!I was hoping to use such AC to save on electricity by not having to run central AC, but there are just too many shortcomings. And initial quality is subpart and is not worth the premium Frigidaire charges.

The unit works well and is quiet. I measured the decibel reading on high from three feet away at just under 65db. The unit was easy to install and cools my 700 SF apartment well. To use the unit in AC mode you will want to vent the exhaust. The window panel kit worked well and note that the exhaust hose has a max reach of 59".

I've had the unit now for only several weeks and it seems to be working out perfectly fine as I intended to fit in while researching this along with other portable units as well, the cooling capacity plus price of the unit was the primary selling feature for me to buy. I haven't had any problems with this unit so far, basically after it shipped, got it out of the box as one piece, except I just needed to set it up and attached the heat exhaust venting, then plugged it in, turned it on, set the thermostat and all has been working great thus far. I added this portable AC to supplement my existing AC systems, to help cool a hotter area of the home getting direct sun heat radiation, with intense sun heat for several hours of the day. I haven't had a chance to use the heater function as of yet but appreciate knowing it's there and will test when the season changes, so the unit can be positioned in the home and utilized year round if needed is a plus, not needing to store the unit or let it sit idle during the winter months, the heating option keeps the unit functional year round, not requiring additional storage space to put unit away, means no off season. The unit fan noise is noticeable, especially on high speed but not alarmingly loud comparatively to other window AC units fan noise inside the home, however, after installing a ceiling fan in the area to help move the cooled air coming from the unit, helps to circulate the cooled air and minimizes the unit fan noise need by adjusting it down on a lower setting to be even quieter functioning in the home, makes using this unit in places I cannot add a window unit even better for the location I needed it to work better. I am enjoying the unit so far, just continuing to admire and monitoring how well it is working to help keep the temperature comfortable throughout the home this summer, the unit seems to be well built and if it continues to operate and provide service I would buy again. The only negative I have thus far, I did not see a color option selection available to choose at purchase to match home dÃcor. An appliance unit that can be this functional, as a heater and AC needs to have more dÃcor accessories or color options available to better blend with the dÃcor inside the home as a year round fixture, will make buying this unit a more attractive option for any room of the home, as well garages, basements and utility rooms.

Came with a broken caster. Called Frigidaire help line and they said i would have to return the entire unit to Amazon and they couldn't get me a new caster*#! Of course I had completely unpacked it before I discovered the broken caster. When I ordered it on Amazon, it wasn't clear that it came with the window kit. Would have been nice to know that at the time of ordering.

We are very satisfied with the air conditioner for our Family Room with enough cooling power to cool the adjacent Kitchen and Dining Room area as well, where our old one you had to sit right in front of it to become cool. It is also very quiet makes it easy to hear the tv nor have to shout over when having a conversation. We did a lot of research and wanted a unit that was quiet, had enough cooling power for our needs and has in home warranty service rather than having to send it off to a service center somewhere and pay shipping like some other brands require. The design of the air conditioner is very attractive. The only complaint we have is not having the exhaust hose insulated we bought a hose cover that is insulated which has resolved the room heating problem. Besides this small complaint we are really enjoying the unit on these hot days staying nice and cool inside.

This thing cools & dehumidifies my 500 sqft garage, that we're renovating into a living space. I ran the exhaust right through the wall, since there are no windows in my garage. It's a great little unit, and isn't too loud!
