Now at 66 yrs of age, I realized this is one of the mistakes on decision. I've made in life long lessons.! we should've bought these machines when we first bought our first washer and dryer!!! The quality is far beyond what you normally see, no real eye candy appeal. It's under the hood that counts.! I have heard about these machines for years seen them in all kinds of laundromats in my lifetime, never really knowing that they are available to residential buyers! The initial layout is a little rich, but the long-term reliability, and the fact that when my wife does are closed now, they come out cleaner, faster, and dryer quicker! As my father always told me you get what you pay for! We didn't buy the most expensive unit that we did buy the ones that were black powder coated, and they look beautiful in our laundry room. That's the way my wife put it.! She loves these machines now that we finally bought one. The alert is audible from any part of the room. You can adjust the volume. The start button is just a swipe of the finger. You can tell these machines are built just by the sound of them running a little bit louder than Our old machine brand name you might as well say Chinese I don't think there's anything that was made in the USA on our old machines and they are household names! I'm not here to bash anything but there's a big difference between a speed queen and what is being produced at your Lowe's and Home Depot today! Again, you get what you pay for lifelong lessons!

I should have bought my speed Queen 5 washing machines ago. My last new machine lasted me 18 months and I decided to spend the money. I've talked to many people that own them and I have no regrets. It has short wash cycles and it still fills up all the way if you want it to. No lid lock!! I love it. It's easy to use and I know it's going to be reliable. The only regret I have is not buying this one 20 years ago.

Great washing machine but with one annoying issue

TC5 cleans amazing and fast. Love the simple design and large knobs. The issue I have is suds coming out of stand pipe when using Normal or Heavy Duty. We have started adding vinegar to wash which seems to help. We are only using 2 tablespoons of detergent. We have also added the rubber stand pipe adapter. We have even tried extra rinse which seems to help also. I have read many people have this problem. I am second guessing myself now that i should have bought the TR5.

I'm so happy with my new Speed Queen washer. My old Samsung washer had NO agitator and was forever getting off balance & i'd have to stop it and readjust the whole load of clothing. Sometimes this would happen several times during the wash cycle. It ended up that I would spend the whole wash cycle standing next to the machine just to keep readjusting the clothes. I got so I hated wash day. Now I don't have to babysit the washer. HAPPY DAYS!!!

I paid over $1500 for the T5, commercial washing machine. It was delivered nicely. I was told it didn't have any digital buttons and came with a "PUSH start" button. It did not. The machine has a digital TOUCH start button and would work half the time I touched it. Also, no matter what setting you put it on, it only fills the drum half full. So make sure to only wash maybe 4-5 small items at a time. Had them come get the worthless crap!

I bought a new washer last year. Not a Speed Queen. In which I wanted a Speed Queen, but I didn't want to spend any more than I had to. When I got my top washer home it had an agitator and did my first load the machine would not get the washing powder out of my cloths! So I called the repair shop. They told me it wasn't the washer. It wasn't broken and that I needed to use liquid soap. I live on a small farm and our clothes get dirty. It took two loads to get clothes cleaned. I sold my not even a year old washer and bought a Speed Queen! It get my clothes cleaned in one wash!

We have dogs and I was looking for a machine that would clean well, have shorter cycle times, and hold up over time. So far the TC5 has met or exceeded each of these. You can tell the quality straight away. We also love the matte black it looks really nice and is a good change from the white machines we have always had. Using the machine takes me back to the 90s when washers just worked and never let you down. I also love that these machines are manufactured in the USA. My only let down is we can't wash our kingsize comforter. If speed queen makes a larger capacity washer it would be perfect. Overall, the purchase has been worth every penny and has improved the day to day function of our home.

It's new so it's expected to function properly. Ask again in a year. I do like the sheet and bulk setting in particular.I believe it helps maintain the balance of the machine. The prior GE machine I had would easily go out of balance especially with bed sheets.

Amazing product that is built to last. The tub is smaller than most on the market but the solid construction on this unit means it is capable of being fully loaded and it just works. It doesn't care that you stuff a king sized comforter into it. Two small annoyances: 1: The machines is not quiet. Do NOT put this machine in a laundry room near to where you are going to be watching tv or the like. 2: This machine does not have a lid lock (this is good). However it does have a switch that when the lid is lifted it will pause whatever it is doing. This includes the fill cycle which is very annoying as they way to add the detergent is during the fill, and you will want to rinse out your measuring cup. Thankfully there are a few ways of either temporarily by reaching behind the machine and pressing a release switch while the lid is open or permanently by using something to keep that release in (clothespin, block of wood or styrofoam, etc).

We bought this machine with the intent of it being the last one we may ever have to buy. Having two teenagers who play sports, we go through a LOT of laundry. The TC500 Speed Queen checked the most boxes in terms of features which we required: knobs (vs. touchpads/screens), full agitator, quality materials/build, made in USA, warranty, and NO lid lock, which the TC500 has. The knobs are digital; they look like metal but are plastic, unfortunately. This does not affect functionality. Cycles are short and we like that we can lift the lid to add clothes to the wash. The deep fill option is great and we have not had any issues with letting the machine auto-fill the water level. The capacity is a bit smaller than our 'old-school' Kenmore that we had, but this hasn't been an issue. A king-sized duvet cover washes just fine. The only things that may improve this washer are: having 'classic' mechanical knobs and a 'load size' (sm. md. large) water level selector knob versus just the deep fill or auto-fill options. However in a world of over-complicated fancy machines many of these classic features are no longer available. Speed Queen sticks to the simpler days of washing and gives you just what you need to get the job done. If you want a classic feel and longevity, this is the machine for you.

I bought a speed Queen had it less than six months and it quit drawing the technician came out rigged it up with no safety switch such a hazard to my small child and I cannot get them to come back out here and fix it when you open the door, it never stops spinning. He said he didn't know what to do.

I had a similar model for 17 years and it worked wonderfully. Needed to buy a new one and so bought the new model of the same washer. It was a great choice. It is a little louder than the older model.
